Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in Dar es Salaam – Safari Briefing and Overnight
Arrive at Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR). Your driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Dar. Relax, enjoy dinner, and get briefed on your upcoming adventure. Overnight: Mediterraneo Hotel or Slipway Hotel.
Day 2 - Flight to Selous (Nyerere National Park) – Boat Safari
After breakfast, take a short flight to Selous. Upon arrival, transfer to your lodge by the Rufiji River. In the afternoon, enjoy a sunset boat safari—see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of water birds as the sun dips below the palm-lined riverbanks. Overnight: Selous River Camp or Kulinda camp
Day 3 - Full-Day Game Drive in Selous
Set out for a full-day game drive with picnic lunch inside this vast and wild park. Selous is known for elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, and rare African wild dogs. Enjoy the freedom of fewer vehicles and raw nature all around you. Overnight: Same as above.
Day 4 - Walking Safari and Relaxation
Start the day early with a walking safari led by armed rangers. Track animal prints, learn about medicinal plants, and hear the bush wake up. Later, relax at the lodge, take a swim, or join a short evening drive. Overnight: Same as above.
Day 5 - Fly to Ruaha National Park – Sunset Game Drive
After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your scenic flight to Ruaha. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by your guide and taken on a short game drive en route to your lodge. Ruaha’s landscapes are dramatic—baobabs, rocky hills, and dry rivers full of wildlife. Overnight: Ruaha Hilltop Lodge or Tandala Tented Camp.
Day 6 - Full-Day Safari in Ruaha National Park
Enjoy a full-day safari with picnic lunch. Ruaha is known for its huge lion prides, elephants, kudu, leopards, and more than 570 bird species. The dry riverbeds and baobab forests make each sighting even more magical. Overnight: Same as above.
Day 7 - Morning Game Drive – Return to Dar es Salaam
Enjoy a final morning drive or relax at camp. Later, transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Dar es Salaam. Depending on your international flight time, you may transfer directly to the airport or have an overnight stay arranged.
